hey csa!

What the hell am I supposed to do with only 2 baby artichokes?
Furthermore, how would you suggest I roast two egregiously different-sized beets?

Wondering what moron is packing these boxes…

  1. Hi Joe,
Maybe they thought you’d like a sampler!
Roast the artichokes, wrapped in foil, with a bit of garlic, olive oil and herbs. While the oven is on, chop the beets so same size and roast them in oil and a bit of water, again wrapped in aluminium. Beets will take about 40 mins, baby artichokes 15-20 mins…but you knew all that.

    1. Thanks, Lisa. I probably will end up combining them in some way. I’ll just never understand why packers don’t think like cooks.

I’d rather forgo the beets this week for more artichokes or vice versa. And since I generally like to roast my beets whole, it be convenient to have them at least similar in size. I should have taken a picture with which to show the disparity. Alas.
